Striving For Quality

Chelan Fresh is establishing a substantial presence in the organic fruit market.

We are producers of premium, certified organic fruit from the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range in Washington State. Our growers have been farming fruit in central Washington since 1894.

Cascade Crest Organics® has always stood for quality in the world of Organic Fruit production. And Chelan Fresh is proud to represent the growers who believe that growing fruit using USDA Organic approved standards is a benefit to both the land and the consumers who enjoy the fruit. Columbia Valley Fruit growers believe the same and chose to join our Cascade Crest Organics® label to now bring our season offering to over 1.5 million boxes of 5 varieties of apples, 6 varieties of pears and consumer stone fruit favorites such as organic cherries, plums, pluots and nectarines. We and are poised for substantial growth with plantings of new varieties such as high color Honeycrisp, sport Fuji and Gala offerings.

Apple Varieties

SugarBee®

SugarBee®

SugarBee®’s skin is red blush, bi-colored, ranging from 30%-100% red with creamy white flesh. The apples have flavor notes of honey, caramel and molasses and will leave you saying “Oh Honey, that’s Good!”. SugarBee® apples are harvested mid-October.

Fuji

Fuji

These intensely sweet and crunchy apples are deeply reddish-pink, typically striped with areas of yellow, large, and round. Fuji apples are known for holding their firmness when baked and for being delicious when eaten fresh. This variety’s popularity is quickly increasing, due to its notable sweet flavor. Fuji apples are harvested starting mid-September.

Gala

Gala

Gala apples’ flavor is well balanced between sweet and tart, with elements of tropic fruit. Bold flavors, especially savory ones, pair best with Gala apples. Gala apples are harvested starting toward the end of August.

Granny Smith

Granny Smith

Granny Smith apples are well known for their unique and well-loved tart flavor. These apples are famous for their bright green coloring. Many prefer using Granny Smith apples when baking due to their lower level of sweetness. Granny Smith apples are harvested late September.

Honeycrisp

Honeycrisp

Honeycrisp apples have a bright red and pale green skin and a cream colored inner flesh. Their crisp and juicy inner flesh is sweet and slightly tart in flavor. Salads, baking, cooking, or snacking are all areas the Honeycrisp apple shines. Honeycrisp apples are harvested mid-September.

Pink Lady

Pink Lady

Pink Lady® apples are named after their pink-hued outer skin. Their slow-to-oxidize flesh makes Pink Lady® apples ideal for out-of-hand eating. With a crunchy texture, tart taste, and pleasantly sweet finish, Pink Lady® apples are perfect sliced in a salad or on a fruit and cheese platter. Pink Lady® apples are harvested starting in the end of October.

Rockit™

Rockit™

Rockit™ are not typical apples. Rather, they’re the first deliciously sweet apple that’s naturally grown to be miniature! They’re the perfect size for kids and the kid in everyone. They’re perfect for on-the-go and fun to nibble away at, right down to the core! All things considered, they are everything an amazing apple is, but they have their own distinct set of benefits others just don’t! Rockit™ apples are available year-round.

Pear Varieties

Bartlett

Bartlett

This pale green pear ripens to a golden yellow, as the flesh softens and fills with sweet juice. Bartlett pears are a very popular variety and are commonly found in markets. Great for snacks and canning, this highly popular pear has a smooth, spicy, classic pear taste. Bartlett pears are available starting mid-August.

Bosc

Bosc

This rich, sweet and spicy pear is known for both its beauty and for its taste. Bosc pears are more firm, making them ideal for pies, baking, and poaching. A unique attribute to Bosc pears is they are sweeter and more flavorful earlier in their ripening process than other varieties. Their complex flavor can be enjoyed before their flesh feels completely soft. Bosc pears are available from the start of September.

Concorde

Concorde

The Concorde pear is unique in shape, color, and flavor, deriving from the Conference and Comice pears. It is ideal for cooking and baking, as well as eating fresh. Concorde pears are firm with a vanilla-like sweetness and do not brown easily. Concorde pears are available starting toward the end of September.

D'anjou

D'anjou

D’Anjou pears are easily recognized by their egg-shaped body, making them the second-most recognizable pear in the country. D’Anjou pears do not change color when they ripen. Delectably juicy and subtly sweet, D’Anjous are truly an all-purpose pear. D’Anjou pears are available from starting mid-September.

Red Bartlett

Red Bartlett

Red Bartletts offer much the same great flavors as Yellow Bartletts, but their color simply adds to their appeal! Once fully ripe these beautiful pears are super sweet and juicy. Consider sliced red pears to liven up green salads or other recipes.

Starkrimson

Starkrimson

Stunningly red, these juicy and mildly-flavored pears have a floral essence. Their bright color and mildly sweet taste make this newer variety of pear an excellent choice for salads and snacking.
