Hard to believe that the new school year is just around the bend. While we’re enjoying the last few weeks of Summer it’s time to get the kids ready and start planning lunch box menus.
Pears make a wonderful addition to school lunches. They’re beloved by kids and pack a nutritional punch! They’re high in fiber and a good source of vitamin C and potassium.
There are endless ways to add pears to your kids’ lunches. The simplest is to just include a whole and carefully washed pear. Try different pear varieties to discover which ones your children prefer. Another way pears can make their way into the lunch room is sliced and paired with a nut butter for dipping (peanut and almond butters are our favorites!). Make sure to use our kitchen hack to keep the pear slices from browning.
